Soon To Be Revealed: The Secret Plan To Defeat Alec Baldwin

To those who keep shouting support for both our military and Donald Trump:
Trump has publicly bragged about dodging the draft during the Vietnam War and about all the fun he had while others served. He has insulted an American for being a POW, insulted the parents of a slain U.S. combat soldier for exercising their Constitutional right to observe the religion of their choice, and belittled every wounded American soldier in history by claiming to deserve a Purple Heart without ever serving in the military. He declares his support of American values while advocating torture, targeting the innocent relatives of terrorists, and championing a sociopath who considers gassing civilians and bombing hospitals to be legitimate battlefield tactics--and who has launched cyber-attacks against our own country. He sees no reason to avoid the use of nuclear weapons or halt the spread of those weapons to other nations. And, of course, he belongs to the political party that for the past eight years has blocked every attempt at raising veterans' benefits. The promises he made during his campaign to help vets have already been withdrawn. He has lied repeatedly about his own financial aid to vets, and brags about not paying his fair share of the taxes that help to support our military and veterans. This billionaire who says that "I always felt like I was in the military" because his parents sent him to posh military boarding schools, fought for years to have disabled veteran street vendors removed from his upscale Fifth Avenue properties because they "degraded the area." Top Pentagon brass have overwhelmingly rejected his foreign policy agenda as "disastrous," and all five living Commanders in Chief have declared him unfit for the job.
This is the man you want in charge of our military?

And now we have the incredible spectacle of the president-elect's opposition to our current Commander in Chief's action against Russia--his choosing the side of a foreign, autocratic thug over the leader of our democracy.
If we are to preserve that democracy, the American people are going to have to rise up and resist Donald Trump. Whatever it takes.

Some Things

I've been telling people to forget Hillary, and to stop comparing our president-elect with soon-to-be ex-President Obama. It's time to concentrate on dealing with Donald Trump.

Still, I can't dismiss the contrast between Trump's reaction to even the most trivial criticisms or jokes and Obama bearing eight years of vile, racist attacks upon himself and his family with all the dignity befitting the leader of a great nation.

Trump likes to brag about his wealth. But, you know, it really is true . . . There's just some things that money can't buy.

Don't Hold Your Breath

President-elect Trump is doing a nice job of getting America's racist hate groups to slither out into the light of day.

To those who claim that America would be better off without Blacks and Jews, all I can say is:
I'm glad that we didn't have to wait for the Ku Klux Klan to develop jazz or a member of the Aryan Brotherhood to invent a polio vaccine.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that it will be a while before we get a new novel from the White Patriot Party or a symphony from the Alt Right.

Unbelievable

Let's see now. Potentially, we have an EPA head that doesn't believe in global warming, and Attorney General that doesn't believe grabbing a woman's crotch is objectionable, a Secretary of Education that doesn't believe in public education, and a Secretary of Energy that doesn't believe we should have a Secretary of Energy.

At least the new CIA head believes in something: Torture! I wonder if Mr. Pompeo has considered what defying international treaties banning torture might mean for captured U.S. soldiers . . .  .
Oh, that's right, our new commander in chief has declared that he "doesn't like" captured soldiers.
You know who else doesn't like captured U.S. soldiers? The people that capture them and have them at their mercy--that's who!

I imagine that it's scary enough being a POW--without having to wonder if your own president has your back. What an absolute disgrace . . . I believe I need a beer.

Make Your Choice

On the one hand, I'm glad my father and three uncles that served in the military during WWII aren't around to see Americans sieg-heiling a U.S. president. Then again, watching that smug face of Richard Spencer as he explains how much "fun" it is to play Nazi, I wish they were. I'd like to see that punk give a Nazi salute in front of one of those guys--or any other WWII vet.

The Germans had so much "fun" under Nazism that most of Spencer's cherished Nazi rituals are illegal in Germany. Countries that have experienced war and the horrors of fascism in their own homeland don't regard tyrannical thugs as heroes. We have been fortunate enough to fight our wars on foreign soil. Are there any survivors of WWII in Europe that look back at the slaughter and destruction caused by the Nazis as "fun"? Would any of these survivors regard military-style weapons as playthings and carry one into a grocery store for "fun"?

And to the Alt-right idiots that like speaking German at their rallies: Do you know what "alt" means in German? It means old--which is exactly what you are. There is nothing new or "alternative" in your pathetic movement. It's just the same old fascist bullying that decent, freedom-loving people have been battling forever.

You can be an American or a Nazi. Make your choice!
