You Want Me To Give My Life For . . . What?

The rate of suicides and PTS amongst our veterans seems to rise as the nation's support for our wars drops. Probably just a coincidence, right?

I dunno...but lately as I reflect over the past 9 years and the ongoing wars, I keep remembering that scene from "Gone With The Wind" when war is finally declared ... southern gents exhilarated and delirious with joy, throwing their hats in the air, just "itchin" to teach those Yanks a lesson. Then with revulsion, I remember one woman in my neighborhood, who after the start of operation "Shock and Awe", was so overcome with passionate patriotism, that she went uninvited, house to house, tieing yellow ribbons to people's front doors. Anybody want to join me for a rousing rendition of "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?"

I don't know what Obama will have to say tomorrow, but I'm feeling a great sense of disappointment. The anti-war movement here needs a "surge."

I can't wait to hear the rationale. As suggested here before, "we" simply can't entertain the notion that our armed forces' sacrifices there were in vain. Uh ... somebody remind me what we're doing there in the first place. Uh...oh yeah...we wanted to get rid of the Taliban cause they were enabling.....uh...what's his name?.... uh.....starts with an O ...I think. Aw shit! You know...the lanky bearded guy who shoots southpaw.... Aw, what's his name.... You know...the guy Reagan and Rumsfeld bankrolled and armed there back in the 80's ? Shit that's gonna be buggin me all day. Maybe Obama'll remind us tonite.
