Sarah Palin is back in the news. Still the darling of the Religious Right, she is now starting her own political party. Apparently, not even the Republican extremists are religious enough or right enough for her.
Here's an interesting point to ponder:
If this were really the "Christian country" that Ms. Palin claims, none of us would ever have heard of her. As an inherently dirty, inferior person put on earth only to serve men, she would have been stuck at home cooking and washing as God ordained.
HEY, SARAH--READ YOUR FUCKING BIBLE!

Don't ya miss Miss Sarah? I'm sure the media does. She's a mega entertainment empire all by herself. Just look at what's happened to her ex-son-in-law Levi.
(Don't know if he's huckstering pants for Levi Straus yet). He's gotta be closing in on his first million She and her family were born for a reality t.v. series...living in a trailer park...on the outskirts of Jerusalem.
Look for them on Jerry Springer.
But back to my point-- isn't it incredible how female Fundamentalists are able to overlook the fundamental misogyny in their religion?
Yeah, I don't think there's too many lesbian fundamentalists out there. Most fundie women are tryin to act out some hollywood- imagined lifestyle of the pre-sixties. I have no doubt that these women hold some romantic notion that they're "sacrificing" their will and ego for some higher purpose for which they'll be rewarded. The better she is at performing this role, especially in the era of post liberation, the more likely it is the husband will assume his role as a good and proper christian patriarch. Anything less would produce guilt in him in direct proportion to the degree of her willing obedience. Consciously or sub-consciously, the woman, however obsequious,is nevertheless trying to exert control over him. The rest are too frightened or dumb to think for themselves and are only too glad to have someone tell them what to do. Plus, they get some strokes from their peers in church.
